Remo ("we", "our", or "us") is a wireless presenter remote app developed by an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains how the Remo Android app and its companion Mac application handle your information.

1. Information We Collect

Remo is designed to work locally between your phone and your Mac. We collect minimal data:

• Microphone audio (on-device only): Used exclusively for the Quick Note voice-to-text feature. Audio is processed locally on your device using Android's Speech Recognition service. We do not record, store, or transmit audio to our servers.
• Bluetooth data: Remo uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate between your phone and the Remo Mac companion app. No Bluetooth data is sent to external servers.
• No account required: Remo does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information.
• No location data: We do not collect or use your location. The ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION permission is required by Android for Bluetooth scanning on Android 11 and below; it is not used for any location purpose.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of Remo displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy:

You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device's ad settings at: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

Users who purchase the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase will not be shown any advertisements.

3. In-App Purchases

Remo offers an optional "Remove Ads" in-app purchase processed through the Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. All transactions are handled by Google Play.

4. Speech Recognition

The Quick Note feature uses Android's built-in Speech Recognition (SpeechRecognizer API). On most Android devices, this routes audio through Google's speech recognition service. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle speech data.

5. Data Storage

Remo stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Your last connected Bluetooth device name (to enable auto-reconnect)
• App preferences (dark/light mode, ads removed status)
• Onboarding completion status

None of this data is transmitted to any server.

6. Mac Companion App

The Remo Mac companion app communicates only with your paired Android device over Bluetooth. It accesses your PowerPoint or Keynote files locally on your Mac to read slide notes and navigation data. No file content is transmitted to external servers.

7. Children's Privacy

Remo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
